Project History

Bridging the Gap in Dublin

The City of Dublin, Ohio, has historically only offered the traditional, suburban lifestyle. In 2009, the City of Dublin recognized the need to innovate, creating a vision for an urban, walkable community that they called the Bridge Street District. Crawford Hoying was the first developer to tackle these new, rigorous development guidelines and acquired more than 30 acres of land along the Scioto River in 2012 – previously the site of a struggling strip mall and driving range.

To bring this vision to life, the city issued funds to reimburse Crawford Hoying for its costs to build 1,700 parking spaces and a significant portion of the road network. The city made another significant investment of capital improvements in public works projects that support Bridge Park including the relocated Riverside Drive and roundabout, Riverside Crossing Park and a pedestrian bridge called The Dublin Link—the longest span, single tower S-shaped suspension bridge in the world.
